The St. Louis Cardinals clinched the National League Central division last night (Sunday, September 29th.) This is the first time in a long time the Cardinals have gotten a pennant. As a cardinals fan, I am super excited for the Cardinals. Over the past few years, they have gotten really close to winning the division, but the stupid Cubs have been in the lead of the division recently. Finally, the Cardinals are getting the chance they needed, because the Cardinals aren't always the best team, but they always play their guts out and always somehow find a way to get the win. They have the second most World Series Championships, behind the Yankees, behind the Yankees. I'm super pumped to see what the Cardinals are going to do in the postseason.

How have the Cardinals gotten to this position?
The Cardinals have been a very iffy team this season in my opinion. They have had lots of injuries this season and have had to fight through a lot of adversity. Even through all that, they have found a way to be the best in the NL central. It also helps that the Brewers best player got hurt, and the Cubs decided to suck towards the end of the season. The Cardinals went on a HUGE winning streak where they won a ton of games in a row. They had some younger players really step up and do amazing for the team. Overall, I am really excited to see how far this team goes in the playoffs.
What I think they're gonna do in the postseason
In the post season, I think they actually have a chance to go really far. They obviously aren't the most talented, there are multiple other teams that for some reason have done insanely good this season. For some reason though, whenever the Cardinals are named the "underdog" in the playoffs, they always show out. The last time they were the underdogs in the playoffs was in 2011, which they somehow found a way to win the world series, which I don't think they will repeat this year, but I definitely believe they can get pretty close to it. My prediction is that the St. Louis Cardinals will win their first round against the Atlanta Braves, but then lose the next round to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
How did they make it this far?
The Cardinals have never really been a standout team, but they have always had consistently good players. They have had catcher, Yadier Molina for ages and Matt Carpenter, who basically plays any position. Their star player recently has been their pitcher Jack Flaherty, who has been insanely good since the All Star break. Their first basemen Paul Goldshmidt, who is an older player but also does very good. Then finally, he's not very good but Harrison Bader, who is by far my favorite player has been doing okay this season. He has played only the end of the season on the team, but he just has some really nice hair so that's why I like him so much.

Overall, the Cardinals are a great organization and they should be doing some great things this post season and be on the lookout for the Cardinals maybe bringing home some hardware this October.
