Christian Yelich fractures his kneecap after taking a foul ball off the knee in game against the Miami Marlins on Tuesday September 10th, 2019
On Tuesday, September 10th, in the bottom of the first inning, Christian Yelich came up for his first at bat and fouled a curve ball of his right knee cap. The Brewers were on a 4 game win streak and were fighting for a spot in the post season. After the incident happened, the Brewers Twitter account Tweeted:
"Christian Yelich left tonight's game with a fractured right knee cap. He will miss the remainder of the season"

This is a huge loss for the Brewers because Yelich was on pace to win the MVP for the second time, he had 44 Home runs, a .329 Batting Average, and 97 RBI's. He was leading the MLB in home runs for the longest time as well.
What's in Store for the Brewers Now?
The Milwaukee Brewers are 77-68, they are tied for second place in the NL Central with the Chicago Cubs. They had a shot of making the playoffs, they have won 8 of their last 10 games, but things aren't looking to good for them anymore without Yelich. He was leading their team in nearly every category and he was one of the home run leaders, but now things are going to start slowing going down hill for the Brewers
What do I think is in store for Christian Yelich?
This is a huge loss for the Brewers, they lost the best hitter they've had since Prince Fielder played on the Brewers and now he's done for the season and if you ask me I think he's done for longer than that. I really am a huge fan of Christian Yelich (even though I'm a Cardinals fan,) he's still a heck of a baseball player. Although, throughout all sports, not just baseball, if a guy suffers a huge injury like his, they usually don't come back the same play they once were. Now I have seen it happen, like Tom Brady became a much better player after his ACL injury, but it is very rare. poor Yelich is a young talented player, but I predict he comes back next season and doesn't put up even close to the numbers he put up and he will get traded out to a team on the West Coast.
Mike Trout goes down with foot injury, will undergo surgery and also be out for the remainder of the season
Mike Trout, the American League reigning MVP, experienced some pain in his foot on Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays. Doctors said there was some thing wrong with the nerves in his right foot. After an on-field test on Monday he was still feeling major discomfort and surgery was the best thing for the soon to be AL MVP.

What do I think is in store for Mike Trout?
Mike Trout is the best player in the MLB hands down. There is no one in the league that can even match the numbers he is putting up. He is leading the American League in almost every single category. It doesn't even matter that he is missing the remainder of the season because he is still going to win the MVP. About the surgery though, I don't know how he is going to play after it. Like I said about Yelich, he might have trouble going back to the player he once was but for Trout, Trout is a different person. He is like a superhuman, he can do things that most people cant even think about doing. But he is known a lot for his speed and with a foot surgery, that could be hard to come back from. Although he is out for the season I am excited to see how he bounces back from something like this.
This article is so relate-able to many people I have know that became injured or even myself when I had to sit out for injury. It happens way to much and it is very said when you see star players go down or friends. For Yelich this is not the case but in many situation it is the gear many athletes do not wear that can hurt them. For example, in the NFL you are not required to wear thigh pads or knee pads but they were mad for protection of parts of the body susceptible to injury through the certain sport you play. I do not think Yelich will want to be sitting out, injured or not all athletes…
Great Article Jackson! Seeing two baseball stars get injured is very unfortunate. However, I believe that Christian Yelich will return back to his MVP shape even after his injury. This injury will motivate him to work even harder in the weight room to get back into his MVP shape. I believe he will have a monster year next season, not a regression year.
